This still impressive automotive “superstore” of its time sits along the old path of U.S. Route 70. In addition to tires and gasoline, the empty space on the side appears it might have been utilized for automobile sales. Looking at this made me think of the all-too-appropriate Iris DeMent song, Our Town, especially the line, “Over here is where I bought my first car.”
